I know Farnborough , had alot of trouble there yesterday. A driver reported a young girl wandering very close to the lines, and so the signalman blocked all 4 lines and turned the current off. The police turned up, and the girl pulled out a knife and started trying to stab coppers! Caused major delays. I also know about 73109 Same motors as a 442, 650hp diesel engine {i think}, push puller, can supply train heat, air braked {EP}, dual controls, owned solely by South West Trains, based at Woking, but often is maintained and fueled {for the diesel engine} at Fratton yard, with the over hauls being done at Stuarts Lane or St Leonards {near hastings}. Can recover all types of current southern electrics without alteration to its coupling or braking system.

Sorry about Farnborough, i will read the local Is 73109 gonna be painted into a nice livery such as those quiet (most of the time) 442's (wessex) as it only suits slam-doors

73109 is my favourite one out of all the SWT rescue locos. It wont be getting the new livery i dont think. I wondered what had happened to that Anglia service, i did my training in Basingstoke, and it used to run until the winter timetable kicked in. Provided a good link if you ask me. Just proves the SRA are stupid Just because a service isnt over flowing with passengers, they with draw it. Alot of Virgin services have been with drawn from Portsmouth, just 2 years after Chris Green stood on Portsmouth Harbour platform, promising an hourly service from the south coast {1 train every 2 hours from southampton, and 1 every 2 hours from Portsmouth} to Birmingham and further north. A fair number of people used that, and from Portsmouth to Guildford, off Peak, the voyagers were just right for that service! The SRA have taken the Virgin service away from Brighton, now from Portmsouth, and stopped them running to Poole, they now terminate at Bournemouth. Who lets the SRA get away with this crap? I class them in the catorgory as the European union, they should all be taken outside and shot!

The Anglia trains were withdrawn becuase they had to go over the North London Line which has hardly any paths and eventually they had to stop the service to allow more paths.
I agree about the European Union!

Err, well, It wasnt the North London Line that stopped them. The anglias called at farnborough [between woking and basingstoke] quite a lot (not much to basingstoke with 3 SWT an hour anyway)
They origionally started in 2000 to try and encourage more to the trains but by 29 September 2002 the SRA (Stratigic Rail Authority) decided not to fund the sevice anymore, due to passenger problems i.e. not many but fram stratford to Chelmsford/Colchester/ipswich/norwich, i found them very busy.

Fratton depot is home to the majority of the slam door stock {everything except VEPS}, and all services, except 2 a day, on Waterloo to Portsmouth direct services are slam door. You havent experienced rough riding until you have done Guildford to Havant on a fast service. First of all you weeve left and right up the bank towards Haslemere, then its flat out, with a few sharp bends, and level crossings, all the way down from Haslemere to Havant, with a stop at Petersfield. Sit over the boige for best results ;D

Good that there is still a mainline service where slam doors rule!

Another good service, is the 1601 off Basingstoke on a friday night, normally formed of 3 of Frattons finest units, this service has a clear path from Basingstoke to Eastleigh, so the ride down Michledever bank is absolutly f'ing mental. Than it runs non stop between Eastleigh and Southampton central, so its pretty mad going through Swaythling

I live @ farnborough between Woking and Basingstoke on the mainline to Waterloo, and other ways for; Yeah alright then, So not only do you live in 2 places, but one of the places is totally fictional, because there is no such thing as 'The Petersfield/Guildford area' Petersfield and Guildford must be at least 30 miles apart, and in 2 different counties!

1. Guildford and Farnborough Norh are linked by the North Downs Line (operated by Thames Trains) and Guildford isn't far away (by road use the Blackwater Releif Road and the Hogs's Back)
2. It is on the same line and it is in the same KIND OF area. I mean this by they aren't the other side of the southern as Weymouth and Dover.
3. I get haselmere and Petersfield mixed up.
